About Austin

My name is Austin Funkhouser, I am an elementary educator currently teaching in central PA with my wife. I am currently in my 5th year of teaching and I have loved every minute of it. I teach in four of the seven elementary schools in the district, this has allowed to teach a large population of students and I greatly enjoy visiting my past students in middle school and seeing them continuing on the path I helped get them started on. In this position I also get to work closely with many of the principals as we plan concerts and events for the school. This has been an exciting aspect for me because I am able to see the different leadership styles at work and the different culture that it brings to the school. 

My goal is to grow in my position and leadership abilities, and to bring my vision of servant leadership and school community to a school that I can invest in and measure growth throughout the years.
